First time trying a nude - ok, no one ever mentioned that the models move all the time! (Breathing, stuff like that!) But I thank my wife - we had fun trying this!

For those wondering - you are looking at the stomach and rib-cage. (Bellybutton on left, right side ribcage is holding the candle.)

Anyway - decided to keep it abstract and hopefully I won't get hit too hard for this simple, edited and re-edited version!

(Levels, contrast, exposure, colors & saturation, removed some distractions, added some blur inside the candle, resized, sharpened, noise reduction, blending to remove more distractions and added a border)

Wow. I personally like this. It took me a while to figure out what part you photographed, even after reading your description, which I think is awesome! Even if the emphasis seems to fall towards to candle, I think it's beautiful. Cheers!

Very nice,
I don't know how to talk or write about art,
I think when there talking about location,
there talking about city, state, county,

Very nice work

I'm surprised, almost disappointed, that this didn't do better for you. I really like it (it was one of my top picks this challenge); the skin tone doesn't bother me at all (I know lots of women with light/pale skin, and don't think skin has to be tan to be beautiful). I also like the unique take on the challenge, and I think the dark blue contrasts nicely with your wife's light skin and the red background.

i like the idea of it and the fact that you can't tell it is a nude person is nice but i am not so sure it is good for this challenge.

the skin-tone seems a bit off, and the photo doesn't really look sharp enough for me.

Nice idea but lacking somewhat in execution. The DOF is a bit shallow and the exposure was a tad long making the flame of the candle a bit overpowering.

nicely composed. lacks of focus, skin tone is too yellowish

It's more about the candle than the nude.

Good abstract - I can't make out what part that is... (Nice use of colours too).

could use sharper focus on the candle, love the composition and colors, 7

Interesting, but I honestly don't know if the bowl is helping add to the photo. The idea of nude abstracts is intriguing though.

Interesting idea. The skin tone is a little wierd, but I really dig the curve and your color choices for the wall and candle.

Nice comp and concept, but some JPEG issues are bothering me.

Nice curves and colours here. I think this could be made more interesting with more directional lighting to emphasize more shadows in the model. With the current even lighting it looks very flat and un detailed.

Superb S curve and cool use of the red vs skin. That said, I think this shot suffers from a poor lighting on the model. I think a backlight on the subject instead of frontal light would have contributed to the dramatic effect. Good luck!

Makes my top score of the challenge for something different.

I like this idea. It would have been nice if it was just a little crisper so you could properly see the fine hairs along the ridge of the back.

Nice! A wee bit yellowish on the skin tone, but that works very well with your abstract design.

This is a nice interesting image and is a nice abstract. However, feels either a little soft or out of focus for some reason. Can't put my finger on it though. Nice colors and very nice lines. Good luck with the challenge!!!

very nice abstract, the colors are well balanced. the skin IMO is slighlty too yellow, just a tad. And also it may help to try and get your file size as close to the limit as possible. Your file is 36 kb and the limit is 150 kb. If you use PS here is a tutorial that may help you out. Over all I really enjoy the photo, 7.

In my opinion the light is too harsh and the skin has been lost. Without knowing the title and challenge, I might not have known this was skin. I really like the concept though.
