 This is a WWII vet proclaiming his allegiance to the United States and his branch of service. He is also demonstrating his displeasure with the current state of affairs with the Bush presidency and Iraq war. Several veterans protested on January 27, 2007 in front of the U.S. Capitol demanding an end to the war and to bring the troops home.

Processing was simple.

Raw, opened in PhotoShop.
Added a bit of contrast and saturation
resized and sharpened.

That's it. ;-)

Such sad eyes! I have the greatest respect for people who have been through something like this in their lifetimes. I love the way the figure behind is a mirroring the actions of the old man. Well photographed.

Fight the Power! - good for them, I gave higher score to photos that had the foreground out of focus too though.
