Going for a bit of a film noir look, with the shadow and everything, but the female model is more front-lit than i\'d like. I smashed one of my slave flashes last week and am still waiting for a replacement to arrive, so had to use the on-board and just one slave behind the dark figure. The on-board only let me dial down two stops, and i\'d have liked to drop more. Also there\'s more flare than i would have liked from the slave flash, but it had to be optically triggered and so had to be able to see my on-board... bah!
Hope it\'s obvious what\'s going on in this shot but i might not have made the worried expression on her face clear enough. This was actually a concept for a newspaper shot (that wasn\'t used in the end) to illustrate a rise in violent crime in the city centre of Edinburgh.
I\'d have for once really liked to use advanced editing here! Would have loved to do some dodging and burning around the near model to get a bit more depth, and to clone out that annoying amber reflection next to her hat! Editing: reduced saturation on the red channel (no selection) to give it a colder winterier look (as though 3 degrees wasn\'t cold enough in real life), no crop, nothing else, just resize and sharpen. |

| Some may see this as title dependent, but it really has the right emotional tone to portray if not "exit", apprehension. Excellent photograph at any rate. |

| Looks like a scene from some suspense movie. a little fearful expression on girl's face would have helped the shot a lot. although lighting control and composition fetch 8 from me. |

I love the lighting of the background guy, but I think the girls face should be a little darker (since the light is shown as coming from behind her). Also, her expression is so 'blah', wile she should look at least a little scared. I've seen many high quality photographs brought down by boring expressions of the models. And while I didn't take off points for that reason, it is something to think about next time you shoot something like this. |

| One of my girlfriends was beaten up by a gang of four 'hoodies' last night - she is black and blue today. I can feel the palpable sense of fear and threat. A well staged and executed concept, and a 10 from me. |
