Macro of an ant inside a plastic straw, backlit by an incandescent bulb.

I expect a lot of DNMC comments/votes, though I swear this creature was both alive and undomesticated when I took this photo.

I wanted it to look like it was trapped in amber.

hmmmmmm . . . . .not sure what this is about. A Blurred ant in a white light?
Insects are about detail, this is more abstract I guess.

I don't really care for this picture. You can't really tell what the thing is and the sunlight is to intense.

Details got lost in the light area and also submerge (probably not the right word but I hope you get what I mean) parts of the ant.

Shame about the light

Too much light on the ant causing the photo to be somewhat washed out around the head. It looks out of focus but that may be because of the excess light.

A bug, and a fairly indistinct one.

WildLife, not InsectLife

Lighting is a bit harsh and the ant should be in better focus. Would like to see better detail for a challenge shot.

Insects were specifically not included in this challenge.

Ant wouldn't be included in the challenge... although even if I forget about the dnmc, it ends up being technically poorly executed photo, with no detauls on the animal that seems out of focus, and that blotch of white flash is sure to distract and dissapoint even the most friendly viewer.

sorry - but this is not even a good snapshot. There is no detail to the ant, poor lighting, poor composition....nothing at all about it that I care for.
