 With the wildlife challenge out there this week I went ahead and took some shots in JPEG hoping to come across somethign for this challenge. This was one of three with this type of setup. I pulled pretty far back on my lens trying to get him to be as small as possible but still have impact. I really am not sure how this will do. Is this really minimalism? It easily meets the challenge description as the cardinal only takes up such a small space, but I have a feeling that people will be wanting negative space rather than the amount of bokeh and falling snow that I have going on here. Overall I think its a pleasant but still pretty neutral canvas for the bird to be on. We shall see.

Editing - rotate, sharpen, sharpen, sharpen, resize for web, sharpen one more time. I had my camera set with the sharpening, contrast and saturation jacked all the way up.

Really nice shot. The shallow dof really makes this work. The falling snow is a great detail. Good job.

Very nice! I like the snow falling around the image! Colors are fantastic! It would be stronger with the branch and Cardinal further left in the frame though...

Oh, boy! Really good! I would have composed it with the cardinal at the rule-of-thirds line to make a less symmetrical image. Still, striking and interesting. 8
