as you can guess from the leaf in the picture this is the prints that a bike or a bicycle have left behind on the ground, it was one of the first times that i looked down on the ground i was walking on, and i've learned to look down more often!

On behalf of the Critique Club, here is the critique you requested.

The message of this photo seems to be to convey your interpretation of the interesting textures that caught your eye. And as previous comments point out, they are indeed interesting! The lighting was apparently serendipitous, but is great for this shot, casting nice shadows just long enough to bring out the textures. Some added contrast or sharpening would help them stand out more, but the subtle softness works fine. The sepia treatment is perfect here.

The image doesn't have a clear center of interest. It isn't critical for an image of this type, but one is useful for holding a viewer's attention long enough to start appreciating the overall image.

Overall, this is a fine image. Keep looking down! It didn't score very well in the challenge; I offer two possible reasons for this: First, many voters didn't appreciate the subtleties of the image. With over 300 entries to vote on, they simply didn't take the time. Second, the image doesn't fit the classic image of a still life being a studio shot completely set up by the photographer. Some voters probably took this narrow view and voted low.

Almost looks like the worn ancient writing o the side of a temple - cool, needs to be sharper.

How very clever. I think you have found a new art form with tire tracks in mud. It made a lovely picture.

I'm rating this image -slightly- higher than originally impulsed. I do value it as a raw capture which would lend itself to an interesting photo, if processed advantageously. What I see in it is a textural and relief quality unique to pottery, tapestry or antique prints, which, IMO, could have been taken further than it has been here via careful post-processing (inversion, desaturation, contrast and brightness adjustments?).

The fact that the source for such semblances is an ordinary tire track, is likely as interesting to me as it was to the author of this image. The -pressed- leaf could relate paper as a medium...

What can I say about this shot? Hmmm, well...its imaginative, creative and definitely different, and believe it or not I like it! It is still life for sure, way to go, giving me something "different" to judge.9

Almost sephia! Too harsh (and up to date) to be nostalgic about.
