a little too dark to see the detail on the goose.

A bit too dark. I like the ripples in the water, but would rather see the goose on the other side of the shot so has somewhere to go, rather than so much space behind him.

The bird is lacking detail in the shades (at least on my monitor here).

Not sure if I care for the B&W conversion. Also, your subject is swimming out of the frame rather than into it. What this does is makes the eye only look at the goose and to the left of it. Everything to the right ends up as wasted space essentially.

Nice sharpness and good capture of the reflections and ripples however.
