Challenge: Motion Panning II (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM for Canon
Location: Thorndon Park, Essex, UK
Date: Jan 13, 2007
Aperture: f/6.3

Shutter: 1/10 sec

This was my first attempt at motion panning, i took about 130 pics of which over a hundred were thrown straight to recycle bin!
I'm happy with this one though, have to see how it goes.

Post Voting: Wow 18th is pretty good.

For those who wanted to know how it was done (and the one that didn't believe it was and made me validate it :o) )
This is a friend of mine and i got him to cycle back and forth whilst i practiced the panning and follow through the shutter. I had it on shutter priority at 1/10 and he was cyling quite fast. I tried 3 different lenses for a variety of focal lengths and this one came out best. Its t 10mm focal length on the 350D APC sized sensor. Thats how it's got the circular style motion blur, and i got the timing right to get him "finishing" in the center.

The very bright light behind is distracting. I'm interested to hear how this shot was achieved.
