 Shot from a whale-watching boat. Feeding frenzy of Gannets and Killer whales (Orcas). Note there are 2 Orcas (one is just a small tip of the back-fin, left end of frame, about middle). Marvellous experience.
Some tweaking in C1 and PS CSII
300mmF4L+1.4 TC = 420 f/5.6 Handheld (what else on a moving boat?)

this strikes me more as a snapshot of a great opportunity than an effort to compose and wait for the exact perfect moment to click the shutter. maybe the best opportunity never presented itself. as is, it's a bit too cluttered and a bit too busy.

Amazing capture, great timing. Whites are blown, shame. I might have tried cropping differently, it's a bit too centered.

Great focus and shutter speed to stop the action. An orca surfacing that close to me would likely cause cardiac arrest. Good tone range too.
