 I used a 1/8 shutter speed with flash, and a light behind my head to get this effect. That's why my hair is yellow and my face isn't as much, and why my hair resembles flames.

I'm using this as part of my 30 day self portrait challenge...Wierd how you see things you never knew you had. I never knew I had a bunch of freckles next to my eye.

PP:
Levels to make the background darker
Saturation for the hair and to change the lip color
Dodging and burning on the face to create more defined cheek bones and to darken the line of the eye

neat. it would be cool if the subject was positioned higher and further to the left so she divided the frame into half black and half white.
