What a cute little boy. I would have liked the portrait better if his face would have been entirely in sunlight but I know how hard it can be to pose little ones.

What an adorable little model you have! To me, a portrait is all about the eyes... you want them to be in as sharp a focus as possible & the face is a little soft here. The tree provides a great setting, but the doppled shadows are distracting. It would look better if you could use a diffuser (a white sheet, perhaps) to block the sun and cause less shadowing. Also, you want to look for things like your shadow in the bottom right corner - next time, if you see your shadow, move your body or change your perspective until your shadow is no longer there. Hope these help a little!

I like his smile and the setting....just don't care for the blurred face

You have a cute subject hidden in the shadows of the tree. Plus I can see the photographer's shadow. Because you have too many things detracting from the subject, I gave you a 4.

Competition on this contest is fierce and I have seen a lot of professionally well done shots, which this one clearly lacks (needs sharpness, focus, etc). I reluctantly give it a 5 for good effort.

What a cutie. Unfortunately, the shadows on his face take away from the focus and make it hard to see him. Without the shadows this would have been a great picture. I can't wait to see more of this little guy.

Too much shadow on the face. It could be sharper as well.

Harsh shadows on the cute boy's face. OOF as well.

Ok, there is a raging debte about people's voting habits at the moment, so i will attempt to give a detailed comment with my vote:

fist thing i notice: out of focus! Needs to be sharp here.

Fun natural lighitng though and the capture is nice. good pose wit the trees on the branch. The photo should be bigger. akways take advantage of the 640 or 720 pixels! small photos don't ever win or do very well. ever. because of the lack of focus i haveto bump down to 5 :( sry.

Bad lighting. The head which is your focus in a portrit is partially shaded.

Too many shadows.

I am not crazy about the shadow on his face

cute kid - too bad his face is mostly in the shadows

Could use some sharpness.
