 Mount Olympus (elevation: 7965 feet) as seen from the High Divide, at 8:30AM, on July 27, 2006. This mountain goat mother and her kid came each morning to check out our campsite and nibble on the new shoots of mountain hemlock. Photo is taken from a campsite known as "Bruce's Roost", the best view of Mount Olympus from any campsite in the whole Olympic National Park, though the nearest water source is 45 minute round-trip walk down the High Divide to Ocharina Lake. Great sunrises and alpenglow at sunset on Mount Olympus.

Shot F4.0, 1/500. PP included some cropping, a small bit of cloning to trim a few weeds, a few small color balance touches, USM, resize, add border.

I like the layers in this composition - the near green foreground with the goats, the bluer midground, and the distant snowy peaks - the photo is a delightful visual journey. I'd like a little more foreground to anchor the picture better - sort of a virtual place for the viewer to "stand."

Beautiful! Normally we only get to see a fantastic landscape, you have given foreground interest as well. Light is a bit harsh on the goats but overall it's well done.

Stunning composition - very dramatic.
Maybe suggest a crop from the right? - I like the vertical format/off centred composition - but just my taste.
