As much as I liked this in color, there's just something about B&W to strip the busyness from a shot and let the emotive values shine bright.

A gracious thanks to all that voted and those that felt moved enough to comment and make it a favorite.

Here is the color version:

Each image, though the same, are very different.
I have a strong belief that if you want to transmit emotion out of an image,
strip the colors, as they tend to over-complicate things in our brain.

Love this Brad, just love it. I can't get over the grin on his face. :)

Understated but with a flurry of activity. BW toning was perfect and wish it would have scored higher.

This really captures a moment... it communicates a bit of childhood whimsy and even exhiliration that most everyone can relate to. I think the b/w works great.

This was quite the compliment Skip, and have taken a lot of inspiration from John's vision.

I find this a bit boring, the tones seem too even and the composition is ruined a bit with the bottom part. I love his expression so much I'm bumping up 1 point, giving you a total of 6. Good luck

love, love, love this shot Brad. The tones are great, the reflections on the vehicle are great, the little boy's gaze at the flag and his sweet expression. All wonderful!!! Hope this shot rocks in the challenge.
