Try to blur the background. That will bring the subject out more. If you didn't get the right focal length, the editing rules allow you to take care of that.

sweet eyes.

that face makes me laugh - thanks for sharing your friend. It is a nice perspective, showing the elongated nose. The clutter in the background is a little unfortunate, but I only noticed it because I kept looking at those great eyes.

I love the expression, but I don't really like the bg.

Your best friend is a sweetie. Love his eyes. Nice soft light on his face and highlights in eyes are good. The clutter in the background pulls the pictue down, though.

German Shorthair? I have one too! She's my best friend too....A little crazy (Chases ducks, geese, wild turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, and deer)but a great pal. I especially love the faces they make like this. Great capture but needs a bit more light.

Nice dog shot. Nose is a little out of focus and the 'horizon' is not level.

He looks like a lovely guy(or gal). The background is a little distracting.

Awww! What a cute pooch!

If you placed your best friend on the less busy background it would've been great portrait. I love the look in his eyes. It's obvious he loves you truly and trusts you. (No voting, just commenting)

Cute dog, he looks a little dirty maybe would have cloned some of that off.

wish the BG was uncluttered and that the dogs nose was also in focus

what a cutie

The DOF is a bit too shallow, as the nose isn't in focus. I would've found a better background -- maybe either outside or with a studio backdrop. I like the focus you've got on the eyes, and the burned edges!
