 A ghost pumpkin, carved and lit with a candle, photographed against the wall. Then the wall photographed by itself and the two photos combined in Photoshop Elements.

I arrived on this pic following the thread on "December rules".
I rarely comment on pics and I do it now, criticizing this one, because it is a bit of a shame that a potential good work did, IMHO, fail for a relatively simple matter.

The photo has many good points and I will not list them, because the author certainly knows them, having produced the photo.

However, the overall strength is reduced by the lack of contrast between the subject and the background.

You may have tried to increase or decrease the transparency of the subject but, especially considering that editing was allowed, you should have done something to increase the contrast between the subject and the background.

I like the green colour coming through the eyes. Also the area outside the lantern would be scary to walk around.

The visual on this is rather distrubing, which is a good thing, sorta. The bottom looks so solid while the top has the see through look you were going for. And the coloring really doesn't do much for me personally, I think I would have liked to seen more orange on the pumpkin. A 6 to start

Very interesting ghostly Jack o'lantern. Lighting the Jack o'lantern really helps to show off the eyes. Pretty effective shot.
