My 1st challenge submission in months and it's lacking in many respects. Don't like that it's cut off on the bottom - I was concentrating on the car in the distance lining up with the end of the fence when I was taking the picture. It's kind of a busy road and there was quite a bit of traffic - right near a highway ramp and it was New Year's Day. I originally had this in B&W but now that I've been playing around I've noticed that the grass is actually greener on the one side of the fence, so I'm leaving the color. I have a version that is cropped a bit tighter to lessen the distracting cut off bottom - but it seems a little strange(?)- the fence post is just soo white and soo in your face. I kinda think the green grass on the one side - is interesting like the old saying "the grass is always greener on the other side..." Bummer about the sky, as usual it's just white and dreary, though I usually get comments calling it "blown out", "washed out" or "overexposed" - not sure about all that - it's just white, that's how the sky was when I took the picture. I don't think it's as level as it should be either - the horizon seems a bit tilted down and to the left - I probably could fix this flaw in PSP - but I'm just too tired now.
That's all the wrong stuff I can think of for now :)
All auto settings on crappy little point and shoot.
Editing:
in ACDSee: sharpen, slight crop, sharpening, de-sat, blackpoint, gamma, contrast, re-size.
in PSP6: salt & pepper filter, spot edited two small pieces of garbage in the mud and grass, border.
My husband renewed my membership for Christmas and I wanted to enter something :)thanks Dear! |
