I cropped the right side that had a lamp on a desk and hotel person behind the desk. That wasn't an easy choice. Yes the bokeh and lighting is intentional and leads to the main display. My last one for 2006. Happy New Year!!!!

This is a fascinating scene, but it is to busy and distracting. I would have cropped in closer using the molding as a frame for the statue. I would love to see the statue closer to make out more of the details.
Although I see what you mean about the lights, It's not something I would have picked up on without your explanation. The fine architectural detail of the front desk is very nice and I would have made a seperate image focusing on that as well.

This is very pretty. Love the mood that the lighting creates - and it adds a nice glow to the wood too. Have you ever had a chance to get closer and take a picture square on of the statue? I bet that would be gorgeous! The only thing that is a distraction is the stuff at the top of the pic.

Can't stop staring at the statue!
