The background is too busy here. This should have been done against a sky I think.

I find the background too busy. The beautiful feather colors and structure is lost in the total. A blue sky or a solid background would have been better in my opinion.

Peacock feathers are beautiul and I think it could work for this challenge. However, the background is so busy that the feather barely stands out. I think the feather would look great on a solid (black?) background.

What a great idea! The feather is really graceful! The trees in the background kind of interfere with it a little, but a nice shot.

Brilliant colors and great shadows on the feather! I love the blurry trees and the rich blueness of the sky showing through. This photo is SO alive. The red in the upper left corner is a tad distracting. . . it might be interesting to show the hand/thing that is holding the feather, it would give a centeredness to the photo, i don't know if you cropped this out. Great job, 8.

was this actually on a peacoock? if not, i would have chosen a less busy background. feather gets lost. and overall, the blurry background overwhelms the foreground. perhaps a darker background with less contrast would have helped.

What a great idea - the unity with the background is very nicely seen assuming that was intended?

The shadows going across the eye of the feather are a little distracting...

Beautiful - it really gives a sense of movement and blowing. What is the colored section that looks like a peacock's wing?

A different background for the feather might make it stand out more and be more powerful as an image of grace. My eyes have to stuggle to stay focused on the feather instead of wandering toward the light in the background and all the other lines created by the trees.

The light is too harsh for my taste. I like the subject and the idea, however.

It's an original idea, and this peacock feather is gracious indeed. Good DOF with the background, but the choice is IMO not adequate as it too distracting. The only good point of this background choice would be the upper left blus patch, echoing the feather top.
