| It's a bit distracting to have two distinct areas in focus - I find my eye jumping from the cable to the wood on the left and back. Perhaps changing the focal plane so it aligns more with the cable might help? |

| I think you would need a longer DOF and different angle on the cable to draw the viewer into this photo. It is difficult to appreciate the textures without more area in focus. |

| There's not enough context in the image to determine if there's any connection to the challenge. The title should not be the only connection. |

| The subject matter here didn't do anything for me; close focus on the center of a piece of cable; I found the background distracting, and what was in the foreground not of enough interest. |
