Damn, what a face!!!! It is like you can see every aging moment in his life.

Not a bad finish Steve. His face tells a thousand stories.

Reminds me of an old Johnny Cash portrait.

great face - it would have been nice to see a little more light in the eyes.

Your photo reminds me of a shadow box.

Great detail and personality you've captured here. I think it could benefit from a VERY slightly wider crop and a bit more contrast though, maybe even some selective brightness/contrast boosting in the eyes to bring them out more. Good luck in the challenge :]

Every line tells a story in this face I'm sure. What perfect focus except the eyes! The eyes are a little dark and dull, still like the shot!

Nicely done - perhaps a little lightening around the eyes would help? The obvious thing would be a catch-light, but this has a feeling of a non-studio shot. Without some sense of light in the eyes a face tends to look somewhat lifeless - but in an image that strongly suggests a hopelessness (rather than survival, resilience etc.) that's maybe the more real approach. Doesn't mean in won't just take the edge off your score for many voters, though.

This would be worth at least 3 points more from me if you had any sort of eye detail here. Get him again and get some fill light.
