 This was my instinct idea for this shot, but I hesitated for a while and had a shot of a deck of cards. Only in the last second did I change it back to this. I had a few shots like this, but this had the most isolated focus and I thought the visibility of the to/from note was a nice touch too. Not too much editing, just a couple color boosts and a noise reduction.

Nice depth of field, but the subject matter does not do much for me; I see these the way I see gifts every day, and the patterns of the gift wrap and their placement are there, but not different in a way that I would expect from an image focused on patterns.
