I hope I dont get punished for showing a mudman, instead of "mudmen".
-Two shop lights with white curtain and white bed-sheet
- curve adjustment to increase contrast and to bring out crack shadows, decreased saturation a little, three or four (may be more) passes of usm with very small-radius.

This kinda looks like Ben from Lost...only with mud all over. If you don't watch lost I'm sorry for wasting your time. Cool shot though...I could never do that though. I hate when the mud dries up on my skin...I would lose my mind.

Excellent entry. Obviously took a lot of preparation! This really says "Pink Floyd" to me, right down to the crazy eyeballs and serious expression. It would be really creepy if the face was just floating in black, but realize that wouldn't be allowed in challenge. Just a thought. 8.

I think the skin showing around the eyes throws this off for me a bit. I do like the composition a lot.

Great imagination. I think it would even be more effective if his entire chest and neck were mud ridden as well. Nice focus, DOF and light.

This is more of a nitpick, but why isn't the rest of him muddy? Could you have shot it from an angle that wouldn show only his face?
I like the composition though. I think the line from the shoulder leads nicely into the face. I wonder if you could have got any more light on his eyes? DPC really like eyes that are lit up. Overall, well done.

Great idea! I think it would have worked even better if the upper torso were also covered in mud - the hairy skin detracts somewhat from the "muddy" face. The composition works well. I'm not about the lighting - seems a touch too dark and orangey to me.

Wanna know the first thing that popped into my head? Mud looks to "organized", especially around the eyes and nothing on the shoulders? Take a look at Kiwiness´s self portrait, the one where he put the mud on him and you should get what I mean. Had you closed the eyes and put mud over then and opened and had it all over the shoulders too this would have been so much more visually compelling. Not close to being a bad photo cause of it, just that is what can set a part a good photo from an excellent one :) Like it, dig the lighting, think the WB is a bit too warm for my taste but good work.

Man, how long did it take to get that off your ears. I haven't heard that album in years.

Well done technically. I might've tried cropping it much tighter and just trying to concentrate on the face itself.

the composition is derivative of Pedro. It would be interesting to see you come up with your own composition for this shot.
