Here's a guy that's a bit old to be starting college, or in this case, finishing high school! He missed the starting gun!

Reduced shadows.
Increased color saturation, brightness and contrast.
Touched a bit of the soft focus to reduce the graininess.
Reduced size and crop.

This image lacks the "wow" factor of some of the other entries, but I do believe that it is a fitting image for the title that you chose.

Sorry but this seems a little "snapshottish" to me, could be better composed. If I may make a friendly suggestion it would be to try shooting from a different angle next time, like going down to the ground and shooting upwards or the other way around, should lead to a more interesting result.

I don't really understand how the title fits this picture, but that aside, the picture has quite a bit of noise and the colors are a little dull. Try NeatImage and a saturation boost.

There is too much sidewalk at the bottom of this photo. I would've cropped it a bit more.
