Challenge: Sky (Expert Editing)
Camera: Casio Exilim EX-Z750
Location: nearby WalMart parking lot/ nearby farm
Date: Dec 12, 2006
Aperture: f5.1
ISO: auto
Shutter: 1/100 sec
Date Uploaded: Dec 13, 2006

This is an image composed of two images: one was taken in a parking lot with the setting sun and some fascinating clouds in the distance; the other image was taken of a farm on the way home from the parking lot just as the sun was setting and it was getting dark, the lights were on in the farm house upstairs, however, I cloned a couple and added them downstairs, too.
I dragged the farm onto the sky image, removed a couple of parking lot lights from sky image with patch tool. After I had positioned the farm where it seemed to fit the composition, a mask was added and the farm resized with transform tool..I used the mask to remove the sky from the farm which was way too dark and revealed the sky underneath...levels, curves, lab color to sharpen lightness channel...saturated the sky in a couple of places.

Since we have free range, I would have cloned/healed out the lights on the building on the right... They distract from the overall image.

I think I'd have cropped it just to the left of the house and done it in portrait mode. Love the lights of the building on the right.
