nice contrasting shot. I would have made a tighter crop. Maybe starting behind the dogs head, for the other reason it would have moved the dogs head on a third.

Love the play of light and shadows on this dog. Normally I would not like it if the shadows fall upon the face because there is a tendency for a loss of detail. But in your portrait there is little loss of detail. I can clearly see some of the details of the dog's face and more importantly the eye is most visible. It is the action of the dog looking over it's shoulder along with the look in it's eye that is integral to the "feel" of the photo not to mention the title. The dog is in a relaxed pose resting upon the cushions and he/she looks over his/her shoulder. The viewer is left to wonder what object/something the dog is looking back at or if it is "looking back" as in reflecting on the days events. Nice job. Bumping up to an 8.

This photo more than any other in the challenge rips at me. I do love it, and each time I see it I love it more. I've already bumped from 7 to 8 to 9. Give me time, if it sticks in my mind I'll have ya at a 10 by the end of the voting. GL.

8 - Very nice. Shame about that paw cropped. Nice as is, but the light just a little more in the face - but what can you do. Nice 'elements'.

Very nice use of natural light. The bright spot on his nose might take a way a bit but a very nice photo.

Like the pose and mood and bw a lot. (Would a lesser exposure to get rid of blown highlights have prejudiced the subtle exposure of head?) P.S. Comment does not reflect how much I liked this.

Very relaxed--just hangin' out. I love the feeling of this photo, but I wish the fase was a little lighter. It blends into the background just a bit too much, and I am slightly distracted from the face by the brighter areas on his/her body.
