This is Bonnie, one of my best dog friends in the world. She is part Chesapeake Bay Retriever and part sneaky neighbor dog. She has a passion for food, as most dogs do, but has a fondness for cheese burgers from Jack in the Box, hold the pickles.

Cool - I like the darkness of this photo - it really adds depth. I'm wondering about the background though - it almost looks like a lake or something, with an extremely crooked horizon... but there is too much texture on the left-hand top corner. In any case this is a neat shot! :)

Oh I love Chesapeak Bay Retrievers. A good friend of ours up in the Rockies owns a dark reddish brown one, and that dog is one of my favorite animals in the WORLD! They are so smart -- and have SO MUCH personality!

I love the way you have captured that loyal, devoted "look" they are so good at :)

5 - Bit too much empty space in my opinion. Works well as far as direction dog is looking, but the background elements compete for attention as well. LIke to have seen the other eye more, or less, as well.

Looks more like remorse. Great comp and clarity.

AWW. What an expression. I like his sad eyes. Nice use of negative space. What if you cropped it so that we didn't see the bowls? I think that wouldn't hurt it and the leading line of the molding on the wall behind him would send the eye directly to his face. Wonderful focus.

great expression on the face - but the lighting/ brightness and the background bring my voting score down a little

would have liked to have seen a different crop so as not to include the stuff on the right
