This was captured while driving in the local countryside. I sometimes keep a manual 35 or 50 mm on and ready to shoot while driving for things like this. This was cropped ( a lot) from the original so that it would make sense. Gators are almost as much a pest here as the wild hogs, but they just eat little decorator dogs instead of destroying crops and pasture like the hogs do. Yes, we eat both gators and hogs around here. 1974, 35mm manual Nikkor "O" used for this through the windshield shot.

Wowzers! I've never seen anything like that. What a dangerous place you live in. We see bears on the road ocasionally, and the usual deer, moose, coyotes, turkeys, whatever. I've seen one (and only one) wolf by the road (no camera with me). But an alligator? That's special.

And a Canadian alligator would be really special :)
