Nothing extraordinary, but I think it's a good solid pet portrait. I purposely softened it up a bit, but I'm sure a few voters may find it too soft (or worse yet, think it's out of focus), but I liked the softer appeal of the fur with the whole image. Binky here is actually a female cat, but she was looking pretty majestic in the image, so the title just seemed to work.

The afternoon light was hitting her just right as she was sitting on the couch. I converted to B&W, did some vignetting in RAW, used a Classic Soft filter in CS2, some burning here and there and voila.

Great cat portrait, not stiff and posed looking. Natural and you've caught the cat gaze perfectly. I like the softened effect.

Binky. Oh, yes. I know Binky. (Well, not your Binky, but then...that inscrutable look is pure Everycat, isn't it.) I really like the treatment you gave this image. I would also have been delighted to see what Binky looks like in real life.

I'm looking forward to seeing you, your wife and your family on another SF GTG one of these days!

Take care. And thanks for your nice words about my For Sale entry...

Wow, look at that commanding stare! Now that is where you want to keep your viewer's attention hypnotized on! Don't be afraid to get closer to your subject, zoom in to so that his face fills the frame. As this composition sits now, I think that all the space surrounding the cat's face just takes attention away from the strong focal point of the image - that commanding stare which holds emotion and interest. Bring the viewer closer to your subject and it would move this composition out of the 'good' category' into the above average exceptional category.

Nice black and white. You've captured that typical "haughty" cat look. Well done.

7 - Nice portrait of Mr Majestic. Toning works well, A fraction more 'pop' around Mr Majestic's face and/or focal area a little wider, to include a little more face, eyes especially, make this even better in my opinion. A frame may have really set this off and given it more of an edge, not sure.

This shot looks great in black and white. I really like the off-center placement of the cat's head in the composition. The tone range is very nice and focus looks great.

really nice light, my only thoght is the line in the background sort of cuts your cat in half if you were a wee bit lower that line would likely have disappeared.

Nice shot. I'd like a tighter crop and sharpen a little but this is a good entry.
