 This is my girl after a long day at the groomer.

There is not a whole lot to say about this one. It is almost straight from the camera

EDIT after challenge:
Thank you all for your kind comments. I am glad to see that the uniqueness of my dog's tongue in this portrait stood out for everyone who commented.

When my dog was a puppy she ripped out her right lower canine tooth (long story). But now she is getting on in years, and when she gets tired her tongue will hang out to the side. If you knew my dog, you would know that this image truly portrays her personality--she is warm, sweet, and cuddly, without a care in the world.

nice DOF, blah blah. It's all about the tongue. The tongue makes the shot. Otherwise, it's just another picture of another sleeping dog. The tongue marks this dog as this dog, if that makes sense.

6 - See now this is one shot where the eyes closed work, the tongue makes this. As for a 'Pet Portrait', likely not the best, but a personal one where you've captured the character well. For this Challenge though - like to have seen the eyes open - even a fraction.

This one really made me chuckle. With his/her tongue hanging out this big doggie looks like it just flopped down on the nearest warm spot and crashed. This is a good 'day in the life' dog portrait. Good eye 8
