Interesting effect, but it doesn't look like mud. (Looks more like gold paint!?!).

I would score this very high in an abstract challenge, but I can't tell it is mud without the title.

Looks a lot like the horse in the photo "Good Scratch". Complex, but all the same stuff (hair) so the patterns in the matt create flow and texture. Color is good too.

I like the rustic pattern here and colors. My brain can definitely recognize this texture - As I write this I want to know more about this animal. Very beautiful.
