That is a freaking AMAZING image. The ONLY thing that I would suggest is a tad of noise reduction of some sort.

My hard disc died during this challenge so I couldn't comment on many shots. I love this one - it's stirring, moody, dramatic and an excellent use of the technique. Fantastic composition. Well deserved to ribbon - if not top 10 at least.

Can't believe this did not ribbon! I agree that folks must not have seen the bird. Got a 10 from me and I don't do that often. I hope you put this up for sale.

my guess is that many did not see the bird...and never will

This shot is AWESOME! The tones are excellent, scale is magnanamous, shot from a very unique angle and shows with the beauty of a Japanese print. It sends my spirits soaring. This is just terrific work....I applaud you!

This is a very majestic shot...this is almost surreal...the bird is dwarfed by the clouds..great photo! 8

did you take this shot from the window of a plane??
10/25/2003 09:38:43 PM
Wow, what dramatic clouds. I love the play between the gigantic nature of the clouds and the small bird. The black & white aspect works nicely. Looks almost like a painting. 7

I like this shot but it surely manipulated - does it qualify for disqualification? I'm not sure

This is an amazing image. Is it converted from colour? Clouds or smoke/steam?
It took me a while to find the bird, which in a colour image may have been annoying.
With this treatment it works quite well. 9

You have to look but it is there. This is one of the few images were the main subject is this small yet works and I like it. Good composition and tonal range .

I love how the clouds appear lighter below the bird as if it is bringing the light with it as it flies. I half expect all the clouds to turn white and fluffy and the sky to become bright blue as the bird passes. Great shading.

In the thumbnail the clouds almost look like a face. Lovely shot, the lone bird is hard to see but in a way that is good, really makes you look at the shot. Have to wonder where you were when you took this shot, can't wait to find out. a 7 to start

Ups, I almost miss the bird, otherwise I might give it a low score :)
Great shot and meet the challenge too!
