 Shot just prior to sunrise while out hunting, at an elevation about 9,000' MSL, looking west. The city of Logan, UT can just be seen in the valley below. Official sunrise was about 20 minutes away.

I thought the silhouette of this lone, weathered pine tree on the edge of the cliff really provided a sense of isolation.

Technical:
Minor crop, and increased saturation by 15 in PSE 2.0, then resized for submission. One of a very few shots where I used no sharpening at all.

Lovely colors, though they seem a bit dulled, possibly by the low lighting. I love the silhouette effect. I do get an alone or solitude sense, fits the challenge well. Excellent job. 6
