Shot in Epping Forest, just testing out my new Canon 70-200 F4 IS. Not fully happy with it at the moment as close up it looks a bit soft. Maybe I am expecting too much, who knows. Will give it another week then send it back for replacement if I am not entirely happy.

Almost didnn\'t submit this one as I had processed it, then for some reason, deleted the RAW file AND emptied the recycle bin, I couldn\'t recover it from the PC at all, thankfully I could recover it from the compact flash card where it had also been deleted.. Phew..

In Canon DPP.
Upped exposure by 2 stops.
Adjust contrast.
Upped the white balance to make it look more golden.
Slightly desaturated the colour.

In Photoshop.
Cropped.
Resized.
Neatimaged.
Unsharp Mask.
Added border, took border colour from one of the wings.

Hi Mark,

You now own the 70-200 F/4L IS ... in a few days I will join you with a 4.1 rated shot :-(

This is not the lens' fault, but mine, because there is nothing wrong with the one I have. Then, I have no other L glass and not much SLR experience to hold it up against.

In any case, this picture went to my favorites list :-) Now it is going to be hard to own this glass, after you entered this shot!

I had this one picked for the front page, or even a ribbon winner, as I loved it.....

excellent timing. Excellent sharpness considering subject is moving fast. :) Composition works but not sure if I want more duck head or less duck head. 7 good luck in the challenge!

Great action capture. the water droplets are a nice touch. It would have been nice if you cloned out the head on the right of the photo.
