Mom was on the other side of the banister ready to grab the munchkin.
She used to crawl up and now just started walking up.
Picture was slightly rotated to make the banister straight, cropped ( to take mom's arm out ) and resized and sharpened.

This looks like a regular snapshot.
The image is not straight.
The flash is creating a shadow.
Maybe try another viewpoint to create a more dramatic effect.

Meets the challenge perfectly. The verticals seem to lean to the right. The flash shadows are a little distracting, and details are lost in the hair.
