Nice diagonal and an anti diagonal but the texture of the surface is not sharp and a lot of blank space

very very nice, my only nit-pick is that you could have used a deeper depth of field to get the bottom of the branch in sharper focus. sill good enough for a 9 in my book.

Different, meets the challenge, but boring. Too much dark and only the spike is on focus. I wonder if colour would make it more interesting.
