I was playing around trying to get a school picture of my daughter since I decided not to purchase the school pictures this year. Shella was having fun being my model. In this pose she had her head tilted. Then I saw that that there was a diagonal challenge and I thought with a little rotation then would make for a diagonal composition. I really like this shot and I hope everyone else does too.

Shot in raw for the first time.
Opened up in Photoshop and saved as a psd file.
USM
Rotated 30 degrees CW
played around with curves
cropped
resized for web and saved.

If I may be so bold ... what about cropping out EVERYTHING right of the top of her forehead (excluding the leaves) ???

Try it ... I think you will like it ...

I will definately try your suggestion. When I get it complete I will notify you to see if I successfully improved the shot. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

This is second tilted shot that seems to actually work.

The hair in front of her right eye is distracting...

This one's a bit washed out & a little soft. I'm distracted by the leaves over her head & the hairs in front of her eyes. I'm pretty much a newbie here, though so take my comments with a grain of salt.

Lovely, appealing, natural young woman with a dreamy expression! Like the way the reds in the background make another diagonal. Focus and lighting is perfect to bring out the soft skin tones. Great!!

Good colous, but need more contrast and a bit less brightness, imo.
