 This was taken on an overcast day but with promise of sun peeking through at times. It is not an HDR processed image - I've discovered that for overcast days, to really bring out the colors and textures, I make a duplicate layer, then set the blending mode to "overlay". Works very well!

Very nice, good to see you exploring something besides Texas :-)

Regarding HDR, here's a version where I tone mapped this one, then sandwiched the original above the tone mapping in "lighten" mode to clean up the sky and bring back the bright spots. Then gave the whole a jolt of high pass sharpening as well.
