In my quest to come up with something different for this challenge, I wanted to do a perspective illusion, but didn't have time to make any of the extensive models required for some of what I found. I ran across something like this and I then had to see if I could pull off the effect.

I made the stripes in Photoshop and printed them off on a laser printer rather than on photo glossy paper because I wanted the paper texture to remain. Both balls are identical in size. I tried every lens I own and lots and lots of angles to get this to come out right. I went with a 200mm lens to compress the objects together and help accentuate the effect caused by the lines. The effect is subtle, but hopefully comes across to at least some viewers.

Lighting was my favorite tool - the light box. I am bummed about the few pieces of fuzz and wish I could remove them.

I love this photo! The complimenting shapes and textures are so interesting. And the black and white adds a great touch of drama. I can really imagine this framed and hanging on a wall in a very clean, modern, industrial looking decor! 10

What a cool shot. Very minimalistic, and yet somehow complex. Love the stark contrasts and the optical illusion.

Haha, you had me measuring them. Although I couldn't see the difference either :P.
