Taken during a walk up Ivinghoe beacon, England.
Even at 1/8000th on ISO 100 it was still insanely bright.
That's the sun for you ;)

The f 2.8 caused the need for the sudden shutter speed. I assume that you used the big aperture for shallow depth of field, to put the sun out of focus?
I shoot into the sun a lot too, and like the orange in this image, and that the tree is in good focus.
Keep shooting and keep learning.

Well didnt that crash and burn ;)
I figured using something as small as a tree in front of a huge sun was a good example of perspective.
Guess not !
Next time I'll keep my entry in the confides of planet earth.
