i love the vertical crop on this. has a scroll-like feel. the thick border is a bit much though. it fights with all the predominately black shapes in the image. perhaps if you took out the white border.

Great composition and cropping. Nice angle. Very creative. Good DOF. I like how you blurred out that tree branch behind the antenna. 7.

I like the length of the image, different from many. The darker lighting helps make the photo moodier and the perspective is good. I like the composition, but being that its supposed to be all alone, the addition of the second bird throws that off for me. I understand the sentiment behind the image, I just dont think it works for the essence of this particular challenge. That said, the first view of the photo is of a bird alone, so you do get that impact in the beginning. Focus is good on the top bird. Interesting portrayal, falls short on the challenge for me, but has a very nice unique factor. 6

Not exactly what the challenge asked for, but I like the panorama format and the composition. The border is too wide in comparison with the image; a thinner one would be less distracting.

nice photo, but what is lonely about it

I really like this one except for the out of focus branch in the foreground. After the challenge I would try to clone it out and maybe clone out the lower antenna and then you would have a simple elegant shot that totally matches the title.

I really like this. The tree branch is distracting, and the border along the pole doesn't work, but otherwise this is a well-conceived shot. 8

Cool shot. The plant in the FG is distracting and unnecessary IMHO.

nice shot, i like the perspective/cropping. could have upped the contrast just a bit in my opinion, the sky is a little too grey

I like this image. I just wish you could have edited out the background tree it's distracting (but that's obviously not in the rules) and I find the border really competes with the pole. i would have skipped it entirely. Other then those 2 aspects, great colour, meets the challenge, and the crop you've selected is perfect.

good idea and execution. I know that its easy to play monday morning quarterback...but my only suggestion would be to do another angle to get the branch out of frame. But having said that, I won't factor that into my scoring, because this was obviously a spur of the moment thing and complete creativity wins out over staged "studio" shots every time in my books. The vertical framing job is excellent as well. Nice work.
