I got lucky because I think this was the only sunny morning in a few weeks :( I took this on my way in to work and it's definitely not out of the way at all - I literally drive by it every day. No security - easy parking - you can just walk right up to it which it cool. I actually might have just a tad more pride in my city as a result of this experience. I think people (me at least) need to just drive/walk around the places they normally just pass by - it makes life richer. This area is called Voinevich park and right behind is the Science Center and then Brown's stadium. The cropping was the thing I found to be indecisive upon - wanted to show the water but also wanted the building details to be visible. Finally another designer-friendly challenge -- a smidge more fun than usual! I wanted to make sure that first and foremost the image was good -- and the it looked like something you'd find on a postcard.
And- I'm learning new things - I finally figured out how to properly use HDR on this image. It really didn't do much other than the reflection in the water became pretty intense which I liked. I added a little bit of black gradient to the bottom of the image and also a shadow around the type - which is embossed as an effects layer is Photoshop.
I hope this is over a 6!

Beautifully done, Tate. That water is gorgeous and the entire scene is certainly Postcard-worthy. Very interesting architecture, too.

Cleveland should be so lucky to have postcards like this for sale! Congratulations on such a great photo and score. Who'd ever think that 6.8 is underrated, but it really is one of the best in the challenge!!!

What a great reflection! I'm not voting differently because of this, but I wish the text was sized so none of the museum's reflection were covered.

Wonderful shot, reminds me of representing AT&T and our AAC jukebox on the upper level at the reopening of the RRHoF. I like Cleveland.

Love the still waters, ducks with the contrast of the modern building reflexion. Fantastic colors.
Yeah! Ohio Buckeyes! I was born in Medina..long long ago.

I was there just yesterday, camera in hand, but with the weather being as crappy as it was, I didn't even bother taking a shot! :( I like the angle you shot here -- very nicely done!

LOVE this shot! Great choice of font...I'm going to give it a *9*....would have been a *10* with a border

"Cleveland" should be a tad smaller, as is it interferes with the nice reflection. Otherwise well done.

wow, that's gorgeous. Look how calm the water is...and the ducks work well to offset the cool building.
