Riley James-Michael Priest

Yeah, a crowd favorite: A picture of my kid. ;-) Shot some of him and thought what the heck. Hope it doesn't tank badly - that would be a lot of villages to burn and have you seen the price of gas?? :)

Shot RAW, did a couple layered variations of the source image and messed around with levels, blending modes, D&B, etc. til I got this.

Here's the original:

Just a *gasp* Snapshot. He was a bit messy, so high-key was the easiest way to clean his face up.

Beautiful shot of that gorgeous young man of yours. I'll buck the DPC voter trend and say that the high key works REALLY nicely here. Definitely a keeper. The kid, too. You should keep the kid, too. More photo ops, you know... :-)

Surprised to see this one down in the 5.0xx range. It's a good photo, and the processing is really cool. I don't think I could have gotten your original to look like this. Well done.

This is a great portrait. Congratulations (for both the image, and even more for a beautiful child) !!!
I don't get how it scored so low. Go figure the voters mass thinking...
Considering this week's challenges, I can see a nice "Diagonal" you have there, but don't even try pushing that - they'll never get it.

I didn't vote on all the images so I missed this. I think it's super, but look at mine (a similar processing technique) and the DPCers just don't like it. I think it is stunning, Ken. It's different and shows off those eyes with a different perspective.

This so deserved a much higher score than this. I gave you a "9".....
I just love this little man so much, and gee, he is growing up so fast.....

this is very beautiful. the high key was a great choice and you have done a masterful job with it. you are so great at photoshop it is nice to see you use your power for good instead of evil. don't get to used to it though the world needs your evil humor. you were way underrated but that is to be expected here sometimes.

This just appears really overexposed to me.

Stunning as it looks like a pencil drawing..... If this is my favorite little man at DPC, I hope this does well for his Daddy.....

The only thing I don't like here is the rotate. Beautiful pic otherwise

The high contrast might work better if he wore a darker shirt.

Very good high-key portrait, you really managed to keep just the right amount of detail. The eyes are an instant attention grabber. Well done!

The whites are really blown out so you lose so much detail and even the definition of the subject away from the background.

Oh how I LOVE these high key baby shots! :) This is so pretty, it almost looks like a pencil dawing! I love her!

Beautiful, a bit too high key for me but a very unusual shot nevertheless.
