A very risky entry, I feel. Full overcast sky outside, so I decided to try an indoor HDR. Needed a bright light source so used three candles. With no indoor HDRs shown in the threads either I'll be viewed as a genius or as an idiot.

HDR Tone Mapping using Photomatix Pro from 8 images varying over >7 stops. Some burning of background, USM for contrast (20%, 40, 0), resize and USM for sharpness (50%, 1, 0).

Definately risky to enter this, but I liked it. Flames are interesting, and it has a warm feel to it. I think it's the wood under the candles that should normally be more in the shadows, but comes out in warm tones. Anyway... underrated in my opionion.

I'm not sure if this kind of image is an effective use of HDR. I would prefer to see a fair amount of light drop-off away from the candles. Without that, I think it loses some of the ambience.

Subjects that contain moving elements are not good candidates for HDR, but the composition is still good and has good HDR characteristics.

Challening subject to get those flames to stay put! Interesting effort with the foreground illumination and the wood below.

I like the linear lines softened by the circles... warm colors work well... good luck!

Interesting effect happening with the flicker of the flames. Great rich color in the wood.
