 Two parakeets in a cage, taken at a pet store while purchasing dog food...I liked the colors and the way they were posed; levels, layers with multiply blend, masking to keep parakeets light, high pass filter, then lab color conversion for usm, then back to rgb, curves, brightness/contrast, crop...tried to keep the image a little soft looking.

Nice rich green tones and a very nice composition as well. The dodge/burn is a little rough in a few places. Very nice!

I've never seen a prettier image of parakeets. Great lighting and detail. I have a green female and a blue male. I hate having to keep them in cages.....life can be so unfair, but they get loving care every day. Apt title for your image, btw. ((I'm adding this to my favorites))
