Challenge: Long Exposure II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Nikon D70
Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D
Location: Home
Date: Nov 5, 2006
Aperture: f/22
ISO: 200
Shutter: 30 seconds
Galleries: Self Portrait
Date Uploaded: Nov 5, 2006

30 second exposure, black sheet in the background and I on my knees. all lights off. Used the flash in my hand pointed at the floor to trigger two soft boxes on either side. Used f/22 so that the strobes controlled the exposure and not the shutter speed. Used 30sec because I can't find the dang remote. NR was on, just for laziness.

Cropped, and used several layers in different modes, screen, overlay, I saved over the .psd after I flattened and I can't remember exactly what they were.

Copied a selection of my eyes to another layer in normal mode and adjusted the levels to decrease the shadows around my eyes. Used a bg layer in screen mode and erased the parts on my cheeks to keep from blowing the highlights completely. Levels layer.

B/W conversion using two Hue/sat layers, lower one on overlay and colorize mode. I didn't desat the upper layer all the way to keep a slight blue duotone.

Flattened, cloning and some D&B, USM 100,1,0 ; resize, USM 90,.4,0 and saved for web.
