 I thought this could be a simple yet powerful shot.

1. I took the picture
2. Next I opened the image in Photoshop and adjusted the contrast.
3. Created two layers of the same image.
4. Increased the exposure on the top layer.
5. Duplicated the adjusted layer.
6. Put layer masks on the top two layers and blended out specific areas.
7. Put a boarded on the image.

I hope everyone enjoys this image.

hopefully constructive comments: try to avoid lighting that gives obvious shadows, unless that shadow will complement subject. also, try a more interesting composition, where the subject is not smack dab in the middle of the frame. And finally, find a more interesting subject. You can get more creative and find something more interesting to roll.
