Ahhh, streaking plates, one of the lab skills I found hardest to acquire. Ironic I'm looking at this photo for the first time right after streaking some E. coli transformants. Beautiful plates, and I like the blurred background :)

Well deserved, even if you beat me by a couple hundredths of a point! Very nice work, I must say! Congratulations on the ribbon! The first of many, I'm sure.

closing in on the hand, leaving out the green tubes and blurring the background dishes would have made it better.

It certainly has a clinical feel to it, very scientific. The image is sharp, the reflections are clean, color is good, and the lighting is nicely even. Slight improvements could have been moving the samples(?) in a bit closer so the end wasnt cropped out.

One of the nicer 'science lab' photos. I definitely like the range of colors, brings additional interest. The lighting looks good - sterile and cold, fits the general idea of labs. Good title - anything with E.coli gets my attention! The action with the hand and the pointer thingie adds movement and additional story. Well done. 8

my co-worker had to explain to me what you meant by "plate" ... geez, I was going to say as long as it stays off your plate you're fine.

I love this photograph for some reason. Maybe it's because of the obscene amounts of time I spend in the lab. The colors all seem punchy but not overdone, the photo is well balanced, and it matches the theme well. My first 10 given out tonight!

I like the composition of the image. The hand and the dish really pop out at you. I personally might have liked to have seen a tighter cropped version of this shot. But then again, maybe not.

scarey - but a very photographic, very scientific shot - 9

Most visually appealing element of this image (to me) is the blue glove, red petri dish and that small tool, especially against the silver surface. Given that the racks of tubes and other petri dishes don't add anything to the composition (for me) I'd prefer to see a photo showing only the hand, dish and tool close up against the silver.

Good set up, the cleanliness of the laboratory comes over well. Vibrant colors and the composition is fitting - 9.
