This year the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta was plagued by bad weather, resulting in no full mass ascentions. There were several nice days, but the mass ascentions were all curtailed. I loved the lighting this morning as I was waiting.

this is the better of the two photos that are the same.
And in case you missed it, mine is the one that is the "same". I think we might have even been there at the same time and in the same location! Looks like your image is from a few minutes before mine due to the number of balloons. I was so surprised to see an image so similar to mine. Great job capturing the essence of that morning.
Wow, what great timing! This must have really been something to see. Love how that sky just opened up...really catches the balloons well and makes for an interesting shot.
I like the lighting and the sunrays in this picture. Amazing capture. I would have considered croping the top clouds and the bottom forest away so that the balloons and sunrays would fill more of the frame. -7-
What a point of view this is! Magnificent light to say the least...I also enjoy the muted color, it really emphasizes this light, the true star of the show, and the lay of the land...great shot.
A tighter crop or more balloons would have made this perfect. I really like the light coming in, just to narrow of a vision for the width. Still above average score.
Oh my! It's like they are being sucked up into the clouds. COOL. I'm thinking with the minimal amount of color, maybe a duotone would have worked and looked more intended. With this, I keep wanting to see a touch more color.
