just because we can selectively desat doesn't mean we should. This instance it draws attention away from your very cute main subject (little girl) to the bear - opposite of where I would want my viewers eye to travel if this were my photo.

Shadow/highlights in Photoshop CS/2 would bring a lot of definition back to the bear too. FWIW.

Very Beautiful, your eyes are really drawn to the sweet little girl! 10!

the selective desat makes her look gray.

I do not love partial desaturated images. In this case I find it really damaging an otherwise nice shot

I think if you're going to include the stuffed animal in the portrait, you need to give it equal weight - i.e. too dark on the bear.

The B&W face is more distracting than it should be. not sure why my eye sees it that way...

I think you desaturated the wrong thing here.

I like the setup of the composition. I think this photo would have had a bigger impact if the selective coloring was removed. Either a B&W photo or all color.

I don't see the point of desaturating her face for this. It just seems like desaturation for the sake of desaturation for me.

lovely composition: maybe too much post processing: might have left her with some colour
