 260kb at 76% compression (granted at 720pixel width). No way I could ever get an image like this to look decent enough to enter into a challenge (not that it is good enough to enter into one).

I can't imagine why you would think it wasn't good enough to enter in a challenge. It might not be an 8 or 9 shot but it is certainly and 6 or 7.
